St. Thomas Law Review Spring Symposium
Fri Feb 07 2025 9:00AM – 1:00PM
Event Description:
In today’s rapidly evolving real estate landscape, the dream of homeownership and the constitutional rights of renters face unprecedented challenges. In response, the St. Thomas Law Review proudly presents its Spring 2025 symposium, themed “Housing Crisis: The Effects of Land Use Planning and Development on Buying and Renting Homes.” This event invites legal scholars, practitioners, technologists, policymakers, and researchers to join in a critical examination of how land use planning and property development are reshaping the housing market and affecting both buyers and renters. The symposium will feature two thought-provoking panel discussions. The first panel will explore how land use and zoning regulations influence housing prices and access to homeownership. The second panel will focus on the constitutional dimensions of housing, addressing the rights of buyers, renters, and lenders in an evolving market landscape.
